Explore Your Archive Week is a nationally organised event. This year, once again, Milton Keynes City Discovery Centre is taking part in it between 20-28 November. Each day is devoted to one particular topic.
In case you don’t already know, an archive is a record that documents history. It could be the history of a person, place or events. Parchment paper, volumes, images, photographs, digital records and objects are all ways of recording. Businesses, governments, councils, schools and universities all have archives. Museums and libraries may also preserve special collections linked to their objects.

Explore Your Archive is a fantastic opportunity for people to engage with the work of their local archive and discover things they might not know. We hope it sparks interest in history and a wider understanding of how we preserve the unique heritage of Milton Keynes. There’s lots to explore, both from at home or on a visit, so check out our website and social media to make a start!
