Half-term Garden Centre Fun

This half-term, local garden centres are joining in the Hallowe’en fun – we’ve included 3 of the closest garden centres that list activities to do over half term.

1. Cherry Lane Garden Centre, Potterspury Fangtasic Pumpkin Carving

Activity – Carve spooky designs onto a pumpkin and enjoy a creepy cookie and witches brew!

Dates Available – 28 and 29 October

Dress Code – Wear your most frightful fancy dress and take part in a devilishly cool zombie dance-off!

Prizes – There are prizes to be won, they say you’ll be screaming with laughter but we don’t know what the prizes are!

Tickets – £5.99 per child with accompanying adults being free, 2 adults per child.

Book online up to 30 minutes before the event starts. Spaces are limited

Parking – Free, includes disabled parking.

2. Woburn Emporium

Activities – 3 activities to choose from and a separate charge applies to all.

a) Spooky cooking decorating! Kids decorate a freshly baked cookie, an activity sheet and a spooky smoothie.

Price – Child £4.99, adult £1.50 includes tea/coffee

b) Pumpkin Carving. Children create a pumpkin masterpiece – pumpkin and tool kit provided. Lasts 60 minutes.

Price – Child £4.99, adult free

c) Paint a witches hat tealight holder. Children paint and take home a Witches hat tea light holder. Last 30 minutes.

Price – Child £4.99, adult accompanying, free

3. Bell Plantation

Activities – 2-hour sessions in Belle’s play barn.

Older children – twisty grain store slide, pull up the carrots, climb through the barn with its nets and obstacles, shoot down the wavy slide, navigate the climbing tower and send the chicken’s eggs rolling down the egg collector.

Little ones – enclosed baby & toddler area with its toad stalls, ride on chickens, ‘logs’ and activity wall.

Soft hay bales for all

Prices – from £3.50 for 1-2-year-olds up to £8.50 for 5+, adults £1tickets are non-refundable or transferrable. Peak prices – weekend, bank holidays and school holiday sessions are  £1 more expensive 1-2-year-olds therefore pay £4.50 and 5+ £8.50  peak prices during half-term. No need to book but may save time.

Opening Times

  • Monday to Saturday 9.30am – 11.30am / 12 – 2pm /2.30-4.30pm.
  • Sundays: 10.00am – 12 noon / 12:15 to 2:15pm / 2.30-4.30pm.
  • Children must be supervised by a responsible adult
