For the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Big Lunch take part in the The Stony Stratford Platinum Jubilee Pudding Competition
By Melanie Hyde, Stony Stratford Town Council
We are launching a competition to find the best Stony Stratford Platinum Jubilee pudding. The entries will fall in one of two categories:
- Junior (aged 8 – 16)
No cheating anyone!
Tracy Wong from T.Sweetmap (a contestant on Professional Bake-off!) will be judging the puddings on 5th June.
Judging will take place at the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Big Lunch. The Big Lunch, as usual, will be back on Wolverton Road Recreation Ground from 12 noon – 4pm.
To enter please bring your creation to the event by 12.30pm for judging to start at 1 pm. You will also be asked to provide:
- the recipe
- ingredients (indicating any allergens)
- a brief description of what inspired you to make a pudding fit for the Queen.
Make sure your pudding is easy enough for people to recreate at home. The next edition of the Town Crier will feature your recipe for others to try to make.
It needs to taste delicious, and should be made with passion and pride. Consider:
- Did Her Majesty the Queen inspire your recipe?
- Have generations of your family hand it down
- Is it particularly special to you and if so why?
Your pudding also needs to look amazing so do decorate it accordingly.
