Playing bowls enables you, your family and friends to get regular exercise whilst getting enjoyment, satisfaction and the opportunity to meet new friends. At Stony Bowls Club there are currently over 100 people – men, women and youth playing the great sport.

We are always seeking new members to enjoy the game of bowls at our club.

The Open Day

During our open day, coaches and members will introduce you to the sport. We’ll provide equipment so you’ll have no excuse.

Once you’ve given it a go, we’ll offer tea and coffee, and the bar will be open.

Stony Bowls Club Playing Season

We are open for the summer season from mid-April and it finishes in October.  Please come along any Tuesday or Thursday from 6pm.

Where we offer you the opportunity to be introduced to bowls.  You just need to provide some flat shoes and we will provide the rest, including free coaching, encouragement and bowls equipment. It doesn’t end there, scroll down to see what we do in the winter.

The Game

We play friendly games with other clubs, mostly within Buckinghamshire, while more experienced bowlers can play at County and National levels. Accredited coaches provide free coaching and training (lots of spare equipment available for use as well).

Typically after three or four sessions, you’ll be an effective bowler.

Come along, try out your skills and see if the game of bowls is for you.

Club History

Our club was first established in 1923 and offers all levels of bowls from relaxed friendly games up to county and national levels if required.  We have excellent clubhouse facilities including a bar etc.  Just contact us or come along and visit.

Winter Activities

Our club doesn’t completely close at the end of summer. We have a full winter programme of bingo, cards, quiz nights, social nights, and Sunday roast lunches. As well as this, we also participate in indoor bowls matches at local clubs.
